Cute Face Masks

Cute Face Masks

I heard that the Northwest Kidney Center was asking for donations of homemade face masks.  Rumor had it the pattern was at JoAnn Fabric. Some of us are trying to stay quarantined in the house which is a bit boring. I decided a trip to the fabric store to sew and donate masks was worth the risk of a venture out.

Sure enough, just about $50 later and I had enough supplies to make about 20 masks.  One problem. I don't sew. I am so glad I have amazing neighbors and friends who sew. So I paired up with my friend Allison, who is an amazing seamstress and we decided to give it a try.  I cut out some fabric using the pattern and she did the sewing.

Of course, I had to get some Seahawks fabric.

Here is the pattern and supply list we used:

We found rather than using elastic (which is sold out), we decided to try elastic cord from the jewelry section. It turned out nice and doesn't hurt your ears as much as the elastic.

If you can't find any elastic, or you just don't want to leave the house but you've got a lot of fabric scraps and thread, here's another pattern that doesn't require elastic:

Please note: Jessica specifically asks that you use this pattern to donate to healthcare workers and NOT to profit.

Here are some pictures of us in the finished product from the Craft Passion Face Mask Pattern.
